Corrosion-Resistant & Heavy Hardware
What Are Corrosion-Resistant Doors and Heavy-Duty Security Gates?
Corrosion-resistant doors and heavy-duty security gates are specialized products designed for facilities where sanitation requirements, chemical exposure, washdown procedures, humidity, moisture, or access-control needs demand more than a conventional commercial door can provide. Barron Equipment offers both corrosion-resistant personnel doors for interior and regulated environments, as well as heavy-duty folding security gates for access control and facility security. These solutions are commonly found in food processing facilities, pharmaceutical plants, laboratories, chemical processing facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, warehouses, and industrial buildings.

Corrosion-Resistant Personnel Doors
Barron Equipment carries two corrosion-resistant personnel door systems designed for demanding industrial and sanitary environments.
The Durulite® CR 1400 utilizes rotationally molded polyethylene construction for superior impact resistance and corrosion protection, while the Chem-Pruf® Fiberglass Standard Door (CP1) utilizes fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) construction for pharmaceutical, cleanroom, and highly regulated facilities. Both products are designed to provide long-term performance in environments where standard steel doors are vulnerable to corrosion, moisture damage, or sanitation challenges.
Who Makes These Doors?
The Durulite® CR 1400 is manufactured by Chase Doors, while the Fiberglass Standard Door (CP1) is manufactured by Chem-Pruf. Both manufacturers operate under the Senneca Holdings family of specialty door brands. Barron Equipment supplies these products throughout Iowa and the Midwest and can assist with product selection, specification, and project support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Durulite® CR 1400 and the Chem-Pruf® Fiberglass Standard Door?
The Durulite CR 1400 uses rotationally molded polyethylene construction and is designed for environments exposed to moisture, acids, petroleum products, animal fats, and cleaning solvents. The Chem-Pruf CP1 uses fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) with a 25-mil gelcoat surface and is designed for highly regulated environments requiring NIH Standards compliance, FDA compliance, fire-rated openings, and enhanced sanitation performance.
Are these corrosion-resistant doors suitable for pharmaceutical or food processing facilities?
Yes. The Chem-Pruf CP1 is NIH Standards compliant and FDA compliant and is commonly used in pharmaceutical and regulated food processing facilities. The Durulite CR 1400 is also widely used in food processing, cleanroom, and washdown applications due to its corrosion-resistant polyethylene construction.
What does the Chem-Pruf gelcoat do?
The Chem-Pruf gelcoat creates a durable, corrosion-resistant barrier that protects the door from chemicals, moisture, chlorine, saltwater, detergents, and industrial sanitizers. Because it is molded into the door rather than applied as a surface coating, it provides long-term protection without requiring repainting.
What sizes are available for heavy-duty folding security gates?
Single folding gates are available for openings up to 12 feet wide, while pair folding gates cover openings up to 24 feet wide. Standard heights include 72″, 78″, 84″, 90″, and 96″.
Does Barron Equipment help with product selection?
Yes. Barron Equipment can help evaluate your application requirements, sanitation needs, environmental exposure, security concerns, and opening dimensions to determine the most appropriate corrosion-resistant door or security gate solution.
