Overview
Ready-to-eat foods, raw protein, dairy, and seafood processing environments operate under the strictest sanitation requirements in the food industry. Every conveyor on the line must withstand high-pressure washdown with chlorinated solutions, provide tool-less access for cleaning between production runs, and meet USDA and AMI design specifications for food-contact equipment. The Dorner AquaPruf 7400 Ultimate Series is purpose-built for these demanding environments — engineered from the ground up for fast, effective sanitation at pressures ranging from 100 to 1,500 PSI.
Unlike the AquaGard series conveyors designed for dry, wipe-down, or moderate wet environments, the AquaPruf 7400 represents Dorner’s highest sanitation tier. Every design decision — from the zero-horizontal-surface frame to the bearingless UHMW idler pucks — prioritizes chemical resistance, cleanability, and regulatory compliance in facilities where food safety audits determine whether the line runs.
Features and Specifications
The AquaPruf 7400 is built around a continuous TIG-welded 304 stainless steel frame with #4 polish on all outside surfaces. Every component is selected for performance in high-pressure, chemical washdown environments.
- Construction: Continuous TIG-welded 304 stainless steel frame with #4 polish on all surfaces
- Sanitation Rating: Designed to withstand high-pressure spray (100–1,500 PSI) with chlorinated cleaning solutions
- Compliance: Meets USDA and AMI design specifications; USDA-approved belting and plastic components
- Load Capacity: 20 lbs. per square foot of belt
- Belt Widths: 6″ to 60″
- Conveyor Lengths: 36″ to 999″
- Belt Speed: 233 ft/min maximum
- Wearstrip Material: UHMW bed plate
- Bearings: 400 series stainless steel with H1 type FDA-approved lubricant
- Drive: 1.5″ square stainless steel drive shaft without fasteners for optimum strength and cleanability
- Frame Design: No horizontal surfaces for optimum cleaning; conveyors over 10 ft. consist of bolted multi-section construction
Tool-Less Cleaning and Sanitation Access
The 7400 is designed so that every surface, component, and cavity can be reached for cleaning without hand tools or extended disassembly. This is critical in USDA-inspected environments where sanitation teams must clean and verify every conveyor between shifts, and time spent disassembling equipment is time lost from production.
- Tool-less tip-up pulleys allow the conveyor end to be lifted for quick access inside the frame
- Removable UHMW wear strips lift out of the frame without tools to minimize cleaning time
- Segmented plastic return belt supports are easily removed without tools for effective cleaning of the belt return path
- Solid UHMW idler pucks are bearingless for fast and effective cleaning — no grease traps or bearing cavities to harbor bacteria
- Open belt tracking flanges create access to pulleys without disassembly
- Belt lifters (optional) raise the belt from the wear strips by pulling an external lever for fast access
- Frame cut-outs (optional) allow spraying the inside of the conveyor without lifting the belt
- Nose bar drive configuration (optional) enables use of the nose bar transfer on each end for small product transfers while maintaining cleanability
- TIG-welded stand-offs keep fasteners out of the food zone
Applications and Industries
The AquaPruf 7400 serves food processing environments where USDA compliance, high-pressure chemical washdown, and zero-tolerance food safety standards are non-negotiable. Common applications include raw protein processing for meat, poultry, and fish, ready-to-eat (RTE) food production lines, dairy processing and handling, seafood processing, and any environment where third-party food safety audits require USDA/AMI-compliant conveyor equipment rated for high-pressure washdown with chlorinated solutions.
These facilities typically operate under HACCP plans, SQF or BRC certification requirements, and USDA inspection programs that mandate documented sanitation procedures for all food-contact surfaces including conveyors. The 7400’s tool-less design, bearingless idler pucks, and chlorinated washdown rating directly support compliance with these programs.
AquaPruf 7400 vs. AquaGard: Understanding the Difference
The AquaPruf and AquaGard are separate Dorner product lines serving different sanitation tiers. The AquaGard series (7100, 7200, 7300, 7350, 7360) covers dry, wipe-down, wet, and moderate washdown environments. The AquaPruf 7400 is an entirely different class — designed specifically for the highest-demand washdown environments in the food industry.
Choose the AquaPruf 7400 when your facility processes raw proteins, RTE foods, dairy, or seafood and requires USDA/AMI-compliant equipment rated for high-pressure washdown at up to 1,500 PSI with chlorinated cleaners. Choose the AquaGard series when sanitation requirements fall below that threshold — dry food processing (7100), wipe-down or wet environments (7200), chlorinated washdown at standard pressure (7300), or heavy-duty modular belt and high-speed applications (7350/7360).
Selection and Configuration Assistance
Specifying a 7400 system requires careful evaluation of the product being conveyed, the sanitation protocols in place, the belt width and speed requirements, and the overall line layout. Barron Equipment’s conveyor specialists work directly with food processors to design AquaPruf 7400 systems that meet USDA, AMI, and third-party food safety certification requirements while maximizing production uptime through fast, effective sanitation.
