Overview
The Omni Metalcraft BCST 1200 is the highest-capacity belt conveyor in the Omni BCST product line, rated at 1,280 lbs per linear foot on both slider and roller bed configurations. Built on a welded 12-inch deep, 1/4-inch plate steel channel frame, the BCST 1200 is engineered for the heaviest industrial transport applications where product weight, conveyor length, and belt width exceed what the BCST 600 or any lighter model can support.
Belt widths range from 24 inches to 72 inches — six feet wide — making the BCST 1200 capable of handling the largest products in any belt conveyor application: full sheet goods, oversized panels, heavy building materials, industrial equipment, palletized loads, and wide manufacturing components. Drive packages are available from 1 HP to 7-1/2 HP to handle the friction and load demands of this extreme-duty platform.
Specifications
The frame is 12 inches deep, formed from 1/4-inch steel plate with welded construction. This is the heaviest frame in the Omni BCST range — more than three times the material thickness of the BCST 300 (10-gauge) and nearly double the BCST 600 (7-gauge). The 12-inch frame depth provides maximum rigidity to support the widest belt widths and heaviest loads without deflection, even on long conveyor runs with supports on 10-foot centers.
Belt widths are available from 24 inches to 72 inches. Drive packages range from 1 HP to 7-1/2 HP, with the largest motors specified for the longest conveyors carrying the heaviest loads. The maximum load per linear foot is 1,280 lbs on both slider and roller bed configurations.
Slider Bed vs. Roller Bed
The BCST 1200 offers a 1/4-inch steel slider bed — matching the frame gauge — for a fully consistent extreme-duty construction from bed to siderail. The slider bed provides a solid, uninterrupted support surface beneath the belt.
The roller bed is available in two roller sizes. The 2-1/2-inch diameter x 11-gauge roller option matches the BCST 600 roller specification and is used for moderately heavy loads where friction reduction is the primary goal. The 3-1/2-inch diameter x .300-wall roller option is the heaviest roller available in the BCST lineup, designed for the highest loads per foot and the longest conveyor runs where even the 2-1/2-inch rollers would be undersized. Both roller options use 6-inch spacing.
Applications
The BCST 1200 serves the most demanding belt conveyor applications in heavy manufacturing, building materials, lumber, steel service centers, concrete products, and industrial processing. Common applications include transporting full sheets of plywood, OSB, drywall, and steel plate, moving heavy castings, forgings, and fabricated components between production processes, conveying concrete blocks, pavers, and masonry products through curing and palletizing operations, and handling oversized industrial equipment and heavy assemblies that exceed the width and weight limits of lighter conveyor platforms.
The 72-inch belt width serves applications where the widest products must ride flat on the belt without overhang — including 4-foot by 8-foot sheet goods oriented crosswise, wide furniture panels, and oversized manufacturing components.
BCST Model Comparison
The Omni BCST belt conveyor lineup scales from light duty to extreme duty across four models. The BCST 100 uses bolt-together 12-gauge galvanized frames rated at 100 lbs per foot on slider beds with belt widths to 36 inches. The BCST 300 uses welded 10-gauge frames rated at 300 lbs per foot with belt widths to 48 inches. The BCST 600 uses welded 7-gauge frames rated at 620 lbs per foot with belt widths to 60 inches. The BCST 1200 uses welded 1/4-inch plate frames rated at 1,280 lbs per foot with belt widths to 72 inches and 3-1/2-inch roller bed options. Select the model that matches your maximum load per foot, required belt width, and drive capacity.
Selection Assistance
The BCST 1200 is the right choice when loads exceed 620 lbs per linear foot, belt widths must exceed 60 inches, or the application requires the structural rigidity of a 1/4-inch plate frame. For lighter loads, the BCST 600 (620 lbs/ft), BCST 300 (300 lbs/ft), or BCST 100 (100 lbs/ft slider, 240 lbs/ft roller) provide more cost-effective solutions at their respective capacity levels.
