Our rack shelving units have a top shelf framework made from 1.5" x 1.75" tubing. Meanwhile, the middle shelves use 1.5" x 2.75" tubing, granting these units top-tier strength.
Assembly isn't an issue, as you can build your heavy-duty metal shelving rack easily with an allen wrench. Note the slants in each shelf. Thanks to these, improved airflow dries your goods fast while keeping them easily accessible.

Assembly
When assembling these units, ensure that the wider, heavy-duty shelves are placed on the two lowest sections. Use the top shelf for lighter items. A 3/16" Allen wrench (included in the order) is required for assembly. Space the shelves according to your preferred positions. Begin by installing one pre-marked post (included) into each corner. These posts are marked with rings spaced 2 inches apart. Note that the bottom of each post is unmarked to prevent the shelving from touching the floor. Once a post is in the desired position, use the 3/16" Allen wrench to tighten the set screw for each shelf. Follow the same assembly steps to ensure the next post is aligned with the first. Repeat the process for the opposite side of the shelving. After all posts on both sides are installed, insert the plugs into each hex key hole.
To begin assembling the shelves, first stand each shelf upright and space them apart to your desired width. Install the bottom section of the first post by passing it through the collar. Once the shelves are positioned correctly, use the included Allen wrench to tighten all the screws on the first side of the unit. Ensure that the pre-scored rings are aligned while tightening the screws. Repeat the assembly process for the next post on the same side. Follow the same instructions for installing the posts on the opposite side of the unit. After all posts are assembled and tightened, insert the white plugs into each hex key hole.
To use the unit as mobile shelving, remove the plastic caps from the bottom of each post using a set of pliers. Move the bottom shelf all the way down to the base of the unit. You can then push the stem casters into each insert at the bottom.
Care & Maintenance
To maintain the aluminum, begin by wiping it down with warm water and mild dish soap using a soft cloth or sponge. For deeper cleaning, apply a vinegar-water solution to remove oxidation and restore shine, and use baking soda for tougher stains. Always dry the surface thoroughly to prevent water spots and avoid harsh chemicals like bleach or ammonia that can damage the finish. Regular gentle cleaning will help preserve the aluminum's appearance and durability.
