Hatch Net Description:
The hatch netting fall-thru protection system drastically reduces the risk of death or injury from a fall-thru in hatch installations. The hatch net meets and/or exceeds applicable OSHA regulations (see below). Our fall-thru prevention system with aluminum rails allows for easy access and entry to any opening. Be sure to contact us for custom sizes and shapes in order to get a quote today.
Basic Product Usage
Mounted safety net system designed to be installed in all hatches to reduce risks associated with fall throughs. The safety net system provides protection during the initial opening of this hatch and maintains protection after access has been gained. The safety net easily slides on guide rails to facilitate entry and then repositioned to prevent fall through. This system also provides excellent fall through protection while a hatch or other opening is left uncovered and/or while a worker is below. The Hatch Net can be manufactured to fit any roof hatch and all other floor openings.
Maintenance Schedule
Product should be inspected semi-annually by each owner.
Inspect webbing for visible decay, fraying, and ripped stitches. The hardware should be inspected for damage, broken or bent pieces.
Product Limitations
The safety net system after installation should be maintained in the closed position after each use. The Hatch Net is a fall protection system. At no time is the net to be used as a work platform, lifting mechanism, tool holder, tie off point or to attach any other equipment to it. Installation is completely up to the end-user.
Installation Details
The Hatch net safety system can be installed on any standard aluminum or steel floor access, roof hatch or custom sized framed opening. Brackets may also be installed directly to concrete with supplied anchors.
Net Installation Process
Install the rails to structure at corresponding holes located on the rail system track. A typical installation would have 3 attachments for each side evenly spaced on the rail. Larger rail systems may require more hardware. Each order ships with correct amount of hardware.
Bolting to aluminum or steel structure
Mark the location of the hole in order to correspond with the snap hooks located on the net. Drill each hole in the structure. Insert the bolt form the back and tighten nut to at least 45 ft/lbs. Repeat the process on each hole. When complete, install “Caution Label” to underside of the door (if applicable)
Concrete Installation Process
Mark location of the hole to correspond with small hole on rail. Drill a ½” hole in the concrete. Replace the fixture and insert wedge anchor and tap until fully seated. Tighten nut to at least 45 ft/lbs. Repeat the process on remaining holes. Affix “Caution Label” on underside of the door.
