Corrosion Resistant Casters for Wet, Chemical & Demanding Environments

Why Wheel Material and Rig Choice Both Matter

Not all industrial casters hold up under wet conditions, chemical exposure, or environments where equipment faces repeated contact with cleaning agents, moisture, or industrial substances. The wrong material choice — in either the wheel or the rig — leads to accelerated wear, corrosion, or failure at the component level.

The corrosion-resistant caster line from Blickle addresses this from the ground up. For environments where chromium-nickel steel rigs are required, these casters provide corrosion protection in every area, including the high-quality steel rig, the synthetic wheel center, the tread, and the bearings. For applications where the primary concern is chemical compatibility, floor protection, or noise reduction, high-performance wheel materials on standard steel rigs — including Besthane® polyurethane and specialty nylon configurations — deliver outstanding durability without requiring full stainless construction.

The result is a lineup that covers the full range of corrosion-resistant applications, from wet washdown environments to chemical processing facilities, light-duty lab carts to heavy-duty industrial transport.

Wheel and Rig Options Across the Lineup

The following series are available on Barron’s website, each engineered for specific conditions:

POEV Series — Stainless steel casters with elastic solid rubber tire “Blickle EasyRoll” and nylon wheel center. The smooth-rolling rubber compound provides lower rolling resistance and higher load capacities than a standard solid rubber tire, with good floor preservation and low-noise operation. The corrosion-resistant rigs made of chromium-nickel steel can be used in wet areas. Certain versions are suitable for industrial washing machines.

POES Series — Stainless steel casters with Blickle SoftMotion soft rubber tires and nylon wheel center — ideal for applications where gentle floor contact and quiet, cushioned movement in wet environments are required.

PO / POG Series — Stainless steel casters with nylon wheel. Nylon delivers broad chemical resistance and smooth rolling on even surfaces under sustained loads.

SPO / SPOG Series — Stainless steel casters with heavy duty nylon wheel. The wheels in the heavy-duty SPOG series are made from injection-moulded nylon, are resistant to a wide variety of aggressive substances, and with a hardness of 70 Shore D, offer a particularly low level of rolling resistance on smooth surfaces.

ALB Series — Besthane® polyurethane tread with a hardness of 92 Shore A, cast onto a die-cast aluminum wheel center. The brown tread is highly resistant to cut and tear propagation and provides very low rolling resistance. The optimised tread geometry reduces rolling resistance by up to 40% compared to other polyurethane series. Due to the high load capacity, the ALB series can be used for internal material transport equipment like tuggers, even at high speeds. An excellent choice where ergonomic push-pull force reduction and floor protection are the priority.

POW Series — High-quality injection-molded nylon wheels with a hardness of 70 Shore D. The elastic solid rubber damping ring reduces operating noise by up to 10 dB compared to other nylon wheels and casters. The preferred choice when chemical-resistant nylon performance is required alongside noise-sensitive operational environments.

Light to Heavy Duty — Matching Load Capacity to Application

The corrosion resistant caster line spans load capacities from light duty all the way up to heavy duty applications, depending on the series, wheel diameter, bearing type, and rig design selected. Both swivel and rigid configurations are available across the lineup, and brake options are available for applications requiring immobilization.
