Dock and Truck Restraints

Overview

A trailer restraint system — also known as a “dock lock” — is a company’s best choice when it comes to improving safety at the loading dock. These systems secure the trailer to the dock during loading and unloading, eliminating the possibility of the trailer creeping away from the dock. They add safety to the loading and unloading process without compromising on efficiency.

Every year, loading dock accidents caused by trailer creep, premature departure, and dock walk result in worker injuries, product damage, and costly downtime. A properly installed restraint system keeps trailers locked to the dock from the moment they back in until loading is complete. The truck driver’s rear impact guard (RIG) on the back of the trailer is engaged by the restraint, keeping the trailer secure while it is safely loaded and unloaded.

Barron carries two trusted brands: Poweramp and NOVA Technology. Together, they cover virtually every dock type, trailer configuration, and operational requirement.

Why Every Loading Dock Needs a Restraint System

Trailer separation during loading is one of the most preventable causes of serious injury in warehousing and distribution. Forklifts drive off the edge of an unsecured trailer. Workers fall between the dock and the truck. Product gets damaged. Operations stop.

A dock lock does not slow you down — it keeps everything moving safely. All control and activation components are mounted inside the building. They are protected from weather and vehicle impact. This keeps the system dependable with very little upkeep year after year. LED signal lights and audible alarms give both the driver outside and the dock attendant inside a clear, unmistakable status at all times. The restraint stays locked even if power is lost.

Every model in this lineup meets or exceeds ANSI MH30.3 requirements for vehicle restraining device safety, performance, and testing. All electrical components are UL Listed or Recognized for industrial use. These are not optional safety measures — they are the standard for any serious loading dock operation.
