TPR UniLock Loading Dock Automatic Vehicle Restraints

Overview

The Poweramp® TPR UniLock® is a trailer-positioned vehicle restraint. It locks onto a trailer's Rear Impact Guard (RIG) to keep the trailer secured at the dock. A self-contained motor assembly powers the system. It helps prevent unexpected trailer departure during the loading and unloading process.

It solves a common problem called RIG Wedge. RIG Wedge happens when the trailer gets pushed forward during loading. The RIG presses so hard against the restraint hook that the truck driver has to reverse the trailer just to release it. The UniLock's cam design rotates the hook away from the RIG first. Then it lowers the hook to a stored position. No trailer reversing needed.

An internal locking mechanism also holds the hook in place when pressure is applied. This keeps the restraint engaged on any obstructed RIG — including intermodal trailers with cover plates.

The UniLock is designed, engineered, and manufactured in the USA. It comes standard with Poweramp's iDock® 2.0 control system. That means dynamic messaging, LED light communication, and optional connectivity to the myQ® Enterprise platform.

Features & Benefits

The TPR UniLock® is designed to secure a cargo trailer's Rear Impact Guard and reduce the chance of premature trailer separation. The system includes an electric mechanical restraint, an iDock control panel, exterior communication lights, and instructional signs. It covers a service range of 9" to 30" off grade. Restraining force exceeds 32,000 lbs. That gives your dock a strong margin of safety on every load.

The exclusive gear motor keeps the hook engaged against the RIG at all times. If the restraint gets forced down, it re-engages automatically. The motor is IP67-rated — submersion proof up to 1 meter — with a NEMA 4X control panel. The zinc-plated steel housing can withstand direct trailer impact and protects internal components from any weather conditions. The iDock® 2.0 control panel manages the full communication cycle.

As a truck approaches, the exterior light is green and the interior light is red. Once the trailer is restrained, the interior light turns green. That tells the dock attendant it's safe to enter. The exterior light turns red. That warns the driver not to pull away. When the trailer is released and the hook is stored, the lights reset. An amber light activates for bypass mode or fault conditions. iDock 2.0 Controls connect online with the optional myQ® Enterprise platform for remote monitoring across all dock positions.

The UniLock is built for high-traffic docks that need dependable trailer security across a variety of trailer types — especially where standard vehicle restraints fall short. It is highly adaptable to new or existing loading docks and is particularly valuable at facilities that regularly deal with intermodal trailers, obstructed RIGs, or RIG Wedge delays.

All UniLock vehicle restraints include a full one (1) year base warranty on all structural, mechanical, and electrical parts, including freight and labor charges. Systems, LLC warrants all components to be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use during the warranty period. The warranty period begins upon completion of installation or the sixtieth (60th) day after shipment, whichever is earlier.

Yes. The UniLock is available as a standalone unit or combined electronically in a single integrated control panel with your dock leveler. The electric motor is 1/10 HP TENV 115V single phase. Custom interlock sequencing with the leveler and overhead door is also available.

Is the UniLock motor weatherproof?
