Overview
Pipe, conduit, tubing, and other long round stock are some of the hardest materials to store and transport safely. They roll, they slide, and they’re too long and awkward to carry efficiently. Leaning them against a wall invites accidents. Laying them on the floor creates trip hazards. This mobile pipe rack solves all of it with angled cradle arms that hold long stock securely and swivel casters with brakes that let you roll the loaded rack where you need it — then lock it in place for safe loading and unloading.
Built from 14-gauge welded steel with a 1,200 lb total capacity, this pipe rack storage cart handles the weight and length demands of plumbing shops, mechanical contractors, fabrication facilities, and trade schools. Six pairs of angled arms (10″, 12″, and 14″ lengths) provide multiple cradle points for organizing materials by size or project. Four 5″ all-swivel phenolic casters with brakes allow full maneuverability in any direction — and lock the rack stationary when positioning materials. Overall dimensions: 63″ L x 30″ W x 74″ H. Powder-coated finish. Every unit is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a lifetime warranty.
Features and Benefits
The angled arms are the critical safety feature. Unlike flat shelves or straight pegs, the upward angle on each arm pair prevents round stock from rolling off during transport or storage. Pipe, conduit, and tubing stay cradled in position — even when the rack is rolling across uneven shop floors. Each pair of arms supports up to 400 lbs, with 1,200 lbs distributed across the full rack.
The included arm assortment — one pair of 10″, one pair of 12″, and two pairs of 14″ — provides six cradle levels for organizing multiple materials by diameter, length, or job. Shorter arms at the top keep the center of gravity low. Longer arms at the bottom support heavier stock closer to the base.
The four 5″ all-swivel phenolic casters allow the loaded rack to be steered in any direction without needing to turn the entire unit — essential in tight shop aisles and between machines. The brake-equipped version (Model 976) locks all casters when the rack is stationary, preventing movement during loading and unloading. Phenolic wheels are non-marring and rated for industrial floor surfaces including sealed concrete, epoxy, and tile.
Applications
Plumbing contractors and mechanical shops are the primary users. Steel pipe, copper pipe, black iron, and PVC are stored and organized on the rack between jobs, then rolled directly to the work area when needed. The angled arms keep round stock from rolling off during transit across the shop floor.
Electrical contractors use it for EMT conduit, rigid conduit, and wire tray stock. HVAC shops use it for refrigerant tubing, ductwork pieces, and sheet metal strips. Fabrication shops use it for square tube, round tube, angle iron, and flat bar — any long stock that needs to be organized and portable.
Trade schools and training facilities use it for pipe racking in welding labs, plumbing classrooms, and fabrication workshops — keeping student materials organized and accessible while maintaining a safe training environment. Facility maintenance departments use it for staging materials during renovation and repair projects.
Selection Assistance
Choose this pipe rack when you need mobile pipe rack storage with locking brakes for long stock materials up to 1,200 lbs. The angled arms, all-swivel casters, and brake option make it ideal for active shop environments where the rack moves between work areas.
For permanent, stationary storage of long materials in a warehouse setting, cantilever racking provides higher capacity and vertical storage density — but cannot be moved once installed. This mobile pipe rack fills the gap between permanent racking and no storage at all.
This rack is also available without brakes for applications where mobility is the priority and locking is not required.
