Mesh Alternatives
With woven and welded wire mesh being the most popular meshes, there are also other options suited to fit your needs. These include:
- Expanded Metal
- Stainless Steel
- Mesh Alternatives
Woven Wire Mesh
The most popular woven wire mesh (Style 840) is made of a durable 10 gauge wire mesh, woven into a 2" x 1" rectangular pattern.
Other woven mesh options include:
- 6 gauge mesh, 2" x 2" Opening
- 8 gauge mesh, 1.5" x 1.5" Opening
- 10 gauge mesh, 0.75" x 0.75" Opening, used for situations where a mesh with small openings is required such as high security purposes, drug inventory, etc.
- 12 gauge mesh, 0.5" x 0.5" Opening, used for monetary storage and small parts protection
Welded Wire Mesh
Welded wire mesh provides superior qualities opposed to woven mesh. Wire is welded at every intersection to provide rigidity, and allows cutouts to be made in the mesh without loosing structural rigidity or shape.
The most popular welded mesh utilizes 10 gauge wire in a 2" x 2" rectangular pattern. This is used in most industrial applications.
10 gauge wire in a 1.25" x 2.5" configuration can be used in machine and perimeter guarding products, and conforms to RIA (Robotic institute of America) Standards.
