LEWCO CDLR19 Chain Driven Live Roller Conveyor – 1.9 In. Dia. Series

The LEWCO CDLR19 is a chain driven live roller conveyor with 1.9 in. dia. x 12 ga. rollers and #40 chain sprockets, designed for medium to heavy duty loads including drums, wheels, totes, and containers. Effective widths range from 6 in. to 48 in., lengths from 36 in. to 600 in., and speeds from 10 to 100 FPM. Load capacity reaches 7,500 lbs. at 30 FPM with a maximum unit load of 400 lbs. per linear foot. The CDLR19 integrates with the CDRC19 curve for powered direction changes and connects to LEWCO chain transfers and turntables.

Medium Duty Chain Driven Roller for Drums, Wheels, and Totes

Not every chain driven application requires the 2.5 in. roller platform used for loaded pallets. When the loads are drums, wheels, tires, totes, or medium-weight containers, the smaller 1.9 in. roller delivers the same positive chain drive in a more compact, cost-effective frame. The LEWCO CDLR19 is the straight-section workhorse for these applications — providing reliable chain driven transport without the heavier construction and higher cost of the 2.5 in. CDLR25 series.

Load Capacity

At 60 FPM with 4 in. roller centers on a 20 ft. length, the CDLR19 supports loads from 1,150 lbs. (1/2 HP, 48 in. width) to 7,500 lbs. (2 HP, any width). At 30 FPM, capacity reaches 7,500 lbs. across all widths at 1 HP and above. Maximum unit load is 400 lbs. per linear foot.

When to Choose the CDLR19 vs. the CDLR25

The CDLR19 (1.9 in. rollers, #40 chain, 400 lbs./ft. max) is the right choice when loads are medium weight and do not require the heavier 2.5 in. roller platform. Drums, wheels, tires, totes, and containers that stay under 400 lbs. per foot are well suited for the CDLR19. When loads include full pallets, heavy containers, or anything exceeding 400 lbs. per foot, the CDLR25 (2.5 in. rollers, #60 chain, 1,000 lbs./ft. max) is the correct specification.

Choosing the CDLR19 when it fits the application saves cost on rollers, chain, frame material, and motor sizing compared to over-specifying with the CDLR25.

System Integration

The CDLR19 integrates with the LEWCO CDRC19 curve for powered 90°, 45°, and 30° direction changes. Both share the same 1.9 in. roller diameter, #40 chain sprockets, and frame construction for seamless product transfer between straight runs and curves. Chain transfers and turntables are also available for routing and directional control within CDLR19-based conveyor systems.

Applications

The CDLR19 is commonly specified for drum and barrel handling lines, tire and wheel transport in automotive and tire manufacturing, tote and container handling in manufacturing and assembly, medium duty distribution and fulfillment, and any application requiring positive chain drive for loads that do not need the 2.5 in. pallet-rated platform.

Selection Assistance from Barron Equipment

Choosing between the CDLR19 and CDLR25 depends on load weight per foot, product type, speed, and how the conveyor integrates with the overall system layout. FAQs

What is the difference between the CDLR19 and the CDLR25?

The CDLR19 uses 1.9 in. dia. rollers with #40 chain for medium duty loads up to 400 lbs. per foot and 7,500 lbs. total. The CDLR25 uses 2.5 in. dia. rollers with #60 chain for heavy duty loads up to 1,000 lbs. per foot and 20,000 lbs. total. The CDLR19 is more cost-effective for applications that do not require the CDLR25's higher capacity.

What curve model works with the CDLR19?

The CDRC19 is the dedicated curve companion. It shares the same 1.9 in. roller diameter and #40 chain specifications for seamless integration.

Can I upgrade the rollers on the CDLR19?

Yes. The standard 12 ga. rollers can be upgraded to 9 ga. for additional durability. Roller surface options include galvanized tube, polyurethane sleeves, and Ultrex accumulation sleeves.

Does Barron Equipment install LEWCO CDLR systems?

Yes. Barron provides system design, installation, and service for LEWCO conveyor products across Iowa and the Midwest.
