Heavy Duty Double Angle Wheel Rail for Carton and Tote Flow Over Long Spans
Most carton and tote wheel rails are rated light or medium duty, which works well for short rack spans and lighter loads. But some operations need to convey heavier totes, loaded bins, or dense cartons across longer distances between rack supports — and a single-angle or single-channel frame cannot handle that kind of deflection without sagging.
The LEWCO WRF solves this by doubling the angle frame. Two opposing angles create a rigid profile that resists flex across wider support spacing, similar to how the WRA and WRB double channel models span long pallet flow lanes. The difference is that the WRF’s angle construction still allows floor mounting, making it the most structurally capable carton-level rail that also works outside of rack systems.

Where the WRF Fits in the LEWCO Wheel Rail Series
Barron Equipment carries the full range of LEWCO wheel rail conveyors, and the WRF fills the one gap that the rest of the series leaves open: heavy duty structural strength for carton and tote applications.
The WRD (light duty, single angle) and WRE (medium duty, single angle with staggered wheels) handle lighter loads on shorter spans. The WRC (medium duty, single channel) works well inside rack beams for standard cartons. But none of those models are rated heavy duty, and none use a doubled frame member for long-span support. The WRF gives you both — without stepping up to the double channel pallet rail models (WRA, WRB) that are overbuilt for carton-level loads.
Applications
The WRF is commonly specified in operations where heavy totes or dense cartons need to flow across spans that would cause lighter rails to deflect. Typical installations include gravity flow lanes in high-volume distribution racking with wider-than-standard upright spacing, floor-mounted gravity transfer lines for heavy totes in manufacturing, in-rack buffer zones where loaded bins stage before shipping, and custom gravity chutes where structural integrity across longer unsupported runs is required.
Industries that benefit from the WRF include third-party logistics, food and beverage distribution, heavy consumer goods fulfillment, pharmaceutical, automotive parts, and manufacturing operations handling loaded totes or dense case goods.
Selection Assistance from Barron Equipment
With six LEWCO wheel rail models available through Barron, matching the right rail to your application starts with understanding your load weight, product surface, rack span, and mounting method.
