25TRC Curve Roller Conveyor with Tapered Rollers
25TRC Curve Roller Conveyor with Tapered Rollers

25TRC Tapered Roller Gravity Curve Conveyor – 2.5″ Diameter

A non-powered gravity curve section with tapered rollers that maintain product orientation through bends on decline conveyor lines. Rollers taper from 2.500 inches to 1.687 inches in diameter, 14-gauge steel construction. Formed 12-gauge steel channel frame with 30°, 45°, and 90° curve options. Commonly used with LEWCO 1912, 1916, and 2514 gravity roller conveyors. Optional galvanized roller tube and guardrails available.

Overview

The 25TRC is provided with tapered rollers to maintain product orientation through curves on gravity-pitched conveyor lines. On a standard straight-roller curve, products tend to drift toward the outside rail because the outside path is longer than the inside path. The 25TRC’s tapered rollers solve this mechanically — each roller is wider at the outside of the curve and narrower at the inside, creating a differential rotation speed that naturally steers products toward the inside and keeps them centered through the turn.

This curve section is commonly used with LEWCO 1912, 1916, and 2514 gravity roller conveyors. It provides a versatile tapered curve option that integrates into existing LEWCO gravity conveyor systems using the same bolted butt coupler connection.

How Tapered Rollers Maintain Product Alignment

On a gravity-pitched conveyor line, products flowing through a standard straight-roller curve drift toward the outside edge because the outside path covers more distance than the inside path. Guardrails can contain this drift, but they create friction, noise, and potential product damage.

Tapered rollers eliminate drift at the source. Each roller is wider at the outside of the curve (2.500 inches) and narrower at the inside (1.687 inches). As the product rides across the roller, the larger outside edge rotates through a greater distance per revolution than the smaller inside edge. This speed differential steers products toward the inside of the curve, keeping them centered without touching the guardrails. The result is smoother flow, less product damage, and consistent alignment as items exit the curve and continue to the next section.

Compatible Straight Sections

The 25TRC is designed to pair with multiple LEWCO gravity roller conveyor models. Compatible straight sections include the LEWCO 1912 (1.9 in. x 12 ga., 260 lbs/roller), the LEWCO 1916 (1.9 in. x 16 ga., 250 lbs/roller), and the LEWCO 2514 (2.5 in. x 14 ga., 290 lbs/roller). The 25TRC connects to each of these using the standard bolted butt coupler system.

Applications

The 25TRC is commonly used on gravity decline conveyor lines where products must change direction while maintaining alignment, packaging lines where cartons and cases need to arrive at sealing or labeling stations in a consistent orientation, e-commerce fulfillment systems that use gravity pitch to move orders between pick zones, distribution center conveyor layouts with multiple directional changes on a single gravity run, and any LEWCO gravity conveyor system where standard straight-roller curves cause product drift or misalignment on pitched sections.

Options

  • Galvanized roller tubes for corrosion-resistant applications
  • Guardrails for additional product protection

Selection Assistance

Choose the 25TRC when your LEWCO gravity conveyor line is pitched for decline flow and products are drifting to the outside of curves on standard straight-roller sections. If your conveyor is level and products are pushed by hand rather than flowing by gravity, standard straight-roller curves (such as the 2514C or 1916C) are typically sufficient and more cost-effective.

FAQs

When should I use a tapered roller curve instead of a standard curve?

Use a tapered roller curve when your conveyor is gravity-pitched (on a decline) and products tend to drift toward the outside rail on standard curves. If the conveyor is level and products are moved by hand, standard straight-roller curves typically work fine.

Which LEWCO straight conveyors does the 25TRC work with?

The 25TRC is commonly paired with the LEWCO 1912, 1916, and 2514 gravity roller conveyors. It connects to each using standard bolted butt couplers.

How does the LEWCO 25TRC compare to the Roach 254TC?

Both use the same 2.500 in. to 1.687 in. tapered roller design in 14-gauge steel. The Roach 254TC uses a 10-gauge formed frame with grease-packed ball bearings and is rated at 250 lbs per roller with 650 lbs frame capacity. The LEWCO 25TRC uses a 12-gauge formed frame. Barron Equipment carries both brands and can recommend the best fit for your system.

Is a galvanized roller option available?

Yes. The 25TRC is available with optional galvanized roller tubes for environments where moisture or corrosion is a concern.

Does Barron Equipment design gravity decline conveyor systems?

Yes. Barron Equipment designs complete gravity conveyor systems with proper pitch calculations, tapered curve placement, and speed control components to ensure smooth, aligned product flow throughout the line.
