This electric air curtain features a powerful ¾ HP ODP (Open Drip Proof) direct-drive dual-speed motor that delivers consistent airflow for maximum effectiveness. Its high-efficiency discharge plenum includes an adjustable air foil vane (±20°) that can be fine-tuned for optimal performance. The unit comes with factory-mounted single-stage electric heaters that provide 10kW of heating power with a temperature rise of approximately 13°F at high speed and 19°F at low speed.
The heating elements are strategically mounted inside the plenum on the discharge side of the blowers, protecting motor life and preventing dust from building up on the heaters. With a sound level of approximately 63 dBA at high speed (measured 10 ft. from the unit), this commercial air curtain offers relatively quiet operation while maintaining powerful air barrier performance.

Maintenance
To maintain optimal performance, try following these steps:
- Check the stainless steel body for any damage that might indicate internal issues.
- Ensure all motors are operating properly. The single-phase motor is permanently lubricated and doesn't require regular greasing.
- Clean the air intake screen regularly by removing it and flushing with hot water or steam, allowing it to dry completely before re-installation.
- Keep the intake grille free from obstructions to ensure proper airflow. The discharge vanes come preset from the factory for optimal performance but can be adjusted if necessary for specific environmental conditions.
Power Requirements
The BCE-1-48E requires electrical service appropriate for its 10kW heater. For single-phase operation, options include 208V (drawing approximately 51.6A), 240V (drawing approximately 45.3A), 480V (drawing approximately 14.0A), or 575V (drawing approximately 11.5A). Three-phase options are also available. Proper circuit breaker sizing is essential: 70A for 208V/1ph, 60A for 240V/1ph, 20A for 480V/3ph, and 15A for 575V/3ph installations. Single point power connection is available on select voltage options for simplified installation.
