Advance Lifts MSL and BFL Series Multi-Stage High Travel Lift Tables

The Advance Lifts MSL and BFL Series are multi-stage scissor lift tables engineered for applications that need significantly more vertical travel than a single-scissors design can provide. MSL models deliver 48 to 144 inches of travel with capacities from 2,000 to 12,000 lbs. BFL models extend travel to 10–18 feet with capacities from 2,000 to 6,000 lbs and platforms 6′ x 8′ or greater. Each unit features patented Platform Centering Devices, UL-listed controls, ANSI-compliant construction, and a 10-year structural warranty. Contact Barron Equipment to request a quote.

Overview

Barron Equipment offers the Advance Lifts MSL and BFL Series for facilities that need far more vertical travel than a standard single-scissors lift table can deliver. Where a P-Series unit provides up to 72 inches of travel, the MSL Series uses stacked scissor stages to reach 48 to 144 inches — and the BFL Series extends that range to 10 through 18 feet. Both series are designed to achieve this high travel with a compact platform footprint, making them ideal for applications where floor space is limited but lifting height is critical.

Advance Lifts offers the industry’s most extensive standard lineup of multi-stage scissor lift tables. With capacities from 2,000 to 12,000 lbs in the MSL Series and 2,000 to 6,000 lbs in the BFL Series, these hydraulic lifting platforms serve a wide range of production, maintenance, and material handling applications where vertical positioning over several feet is essential.

Features and Benefits

Multi-stage scissor lift tables use two or three sets of stacked scissors to multiply vertical travel without increasing the platform length. This is the key advantage over single-scissors designs, which require longer platforms to achieve greater travel. The result is a high-travel lift with a smaller installed footprint — important in facilities where floor space comes at a premium.

Lighter-capacity MSL models are built with solid steel legs for compact design and cost efficiency. Higher-capacity models use structural tubing legs for greater rigidity and lighter weight. All units include the patented Platform Centering Device, UL-listed controller assemblies, machine-grade cylinders with clear plastic return lines, double wire braid pressure hoses with JIC fittings, mild steel reservoirs, baked enamel finish, and full ANSI code compliance. The standard warranty is 1 year of parts and labor plus 10 years or 250,000 cycles of structural coverage.

Available Configurations

The MSL and BFL Series are offered in two product families based on travel range and platform size:

  • MSL Series (Multi-Stage): 2,000–12,000 lb capacity, 48″–144″ travel, platforms less than 6′ x 8′. Available in double-scissors (MSL2) and triple-scissors (MSL3) configurations. Double-scissors models cover 48″–96″ of travel; triple-scissors models cover 108″–144″. Motor options include 2 HP for lighter models and 5 HP for 8,000–12,000 lb units.
  • BFL Series: 2,000–6,000 lb capacity, 10′–18′ travel, platforms 6′ x 8′ or greater. These are the largest standard multi-stage lifts available from Advance Lifts, designed for applications where travel exceeds what the MSL Series can provide.

Higher speeds, custom travels, custom platform sizes, and custom capacities are available by consulting the factory. Barron Equipment can coordinate directly with Advance Lifts’ engineering team for non-standard configurations.

Applications

Multi-stage lift tables are commonly used in mezzanine transfer, vehicle maintenance, theater and stage production, aircraft maintenance, tall equipment assembly, and any application where loads need to be raised or lowered several feet within a compact footprint. The BFL Series, with travel up to 18 feet, is particularly suited for multi-level facilities, high-bay warehouses, and vertical material transfer between production floors.

Because multi-stage lifts achieve high travel in a relatively short platform length, they also serve applications where a longer single-scissors table would not physically fit — such as equipment access pits, compact work cells, and space-constrained maintenance bays.

FAQs

What is the difference between MSL and BFL Series lift tables?

The MSL Series covers travel ranges from 48 to 144 inches with platforms smaller than 6′ x 8′ and capacities up to 12,000 lbs. The BFL Series is designed for even greater travel — 10 to 18 feet — with larger platforms (6′ x 8′ or greater) and capacities from 2,000 to 6,000 lbs. Both use multi-stage stacked scissors to achieve extended vertical travel in a compact footprint.

How does a multi-stage lift table differ from a single-scissors lift table?

A single-scissors lift table uses one set of scissors to raise the platform. A multi-stage lift uses two or three stacked sets of scissors, which multiplies vertical travel without requiring a longer platform. This allows higher travel in a smaller footprint — ideal for facilities where floor space is limited but lifting height requirements are significant.

What travel range is available in the MSL Series?

Double-scissors MSL2 models provide 48 to 96 inches of travel. Triple-scissors MSL3 models extend travel from 108 to 144 inches. The BFL Series goes even further, reaching 10 to 18 feet of vertical travel for the most demanding high-travel applications.

What capacity range do the MSL Series lift tables cover?

MSL models range from 2,000 to 12,000 lbs depending on travel and platform size. Lighter-capacity models (2,000–6,000 lbs) use 2 HP motors, while heavier models (8,000–12,000 lbs) are powered by 5 HP motors for reliable lifting performance under load.

Can multi-stage lift tables be customized?

Yes. Advance Lifts offers custom travels, platform sizes, capacities, and higher-speed configurations beyond the standard catalog. Contact Barron Equipment to discuss your application and Advance Lifts' engineering team will develop a tailored solution.
