Overview
The Handle It SA-50C is a semi-automatic C-style (also called “C-Ringer”) orbital wrap machine designed for wrapping round and cylindrical products that have a hollow center or circular profile. The open C-ring design is the key differentiator — instead of a fully enclosed ring that requires product to be threaded through the opening, the SA-50C’s open front allows operators to place round items directly onto the wrapping position from the front or side.
With a 20″ (500mm) C-ring opening, the SA-50C handles cylindrical loads up to approximately 18″ in outside diameter. It is purpose-built for tires, cable coils, wire reels, hose rolls, pipe bundles, and other round or ring-shaped products that need secure containment wrapping for storage or shipping. The dual film reel system provides balanced, even coverage, and the sturdy steel construction is built for repetitive use in production and warehouse environments.
Features and Benefits
The open C-ring design is the defining advantage of this machine. Standard orbital wrappers use a fully enclosed ring — the product must pass through the ring horizontally for the film to be applied. That works well for long, linear items like trim or tubing. But round products with a hollow center, like tires or coils, cannot easily be fed through a closed loop. The SA-50C solves this by leaving the ring open at the front, so the operator simply places the product in position and starts the wrap cycle.
The dual film reel system applies stretch film from two reels simultaneously, producing balanced wrapping coverage and reducing the number of reel changes during production runs. Adjustable wrap speed and film tension controls allow the operator to dial in the right settings for different product weights and materials. Lighter tension protects delicate products like finished wire coils, while heavier tension secures rigid items like steel pipe bundles.
The SA-50C operates via foot pedal or manual push-button control, keeping the operator’s hands free for product positioning. A manual safety override provides added protection during use. The compact 44″ L x 30″ W x 56″ H frame fits into existing packaging stations and production lines without consuming significant floor space.
What Makes C-Style Different from Standard Orbital
In a standard orbital wrapper (like the SA-90), the product passes through a closed, fully enclosed ring. The ring spins and the product moves through it horizontally. This is ideal for long, linear items like extrusions, moldings, and tubing.
In a C-style wrapper, the ring is open at one point — shaped like the letter C. The product does not pass through the ring. Instead, the product is placed into the open gap, the ring spins around it, and the film wraps the circumference of the round product. This design is specifically engineered for items with a circular cross-section or hollow center that cannot be fed through a closed loop.
Applications
The SA-50C is designed for manufacturers, distributors, and packaging operations that handle round, cylindrical, or hollow-center products. Common applications include wrapping tires for shipping protection and bundling, securing cable coils and wire reels for storage and transport, wrapping hose rolls and flexible tubing, bundling pipe sections and conduit, wrapping wheels, rings, and gaskets, and protecting rolled or coiled materials during transit.
