VH Leveler

Fully Hydraulic Loading Dock Leveler – VH Series

Overview

The Poweramp® VH Series hydraulic dock leveler is a fully hydraulic, feature-packed product for the value-minded consumer. The VH Series combines superior structural steel ramp design with over 40 years of proven hydraulic operation to produce a safe, reliable, yet economic hydraulic dock leveler. For facilities that need the convenience and safety of push-button hydraulic operation, the VH Series is a strong, dependable fit.

A single push button activates a hydraulic pump for operating both the lip and hoist cylinders. The VH Series leveler is controlled remotely from a wall-mounted control panel, with an array of optional control panel features available. Service range is from 12 inches above to 12 inches below dock level. Standard capacities range from 25K to 80K CIR, covering the majority of general warehousing and distribution applications. The VH Series is designed and manufactured in the USA, conforms to OSHA requirements, and is built in compliance with ANSI MH 30.1.

Features & Benefits

The VH Series is built around a fluid logic block that mechanically controls the flow of hydraulic fluid from the main lifting cylinder to the lip cylinder — far more reliable than standard coil and shuttle valve style flow diversion. Free fall protection is delivered through an in-line velocity fuse built directly into the main hoist cylinder that can never be removed. Every hoist cylinder is equipped with an integral tamperproof velocity safety stop to limit free fall of the loaded platform to 3" (±1"). The hydraulic system operates at low pressures from 275 to 325 psi, and the elevated, frame-mounted pump and motor assembly keeps clear of debris accumulation in the pit.

The recessing lip cylinder pulls back after the leveler rests on the back of the truck, preventing seal wear as the platform moves with the bed of the truck during loading and unloading. The CleanSweep frame design allows for easy cleaning of the pit, and the all structural steel design provides the most reliable support and strongest bridge available. Lip keepers welded to frame members provide nighttime security and cross-traffic support, and a lockout/tagout maintenance strut is included as standard. The VH Series is available with iDock Controls and myQ Dock Management integration for real-time visibility into leveler activity and maintenance history.

VH Series Features

Applications

The VH Series is well-suited for facilities that require reliable, push-button hydraulic leveling across a range of standard loading dock conditions — particularly where consistent throughput and operational simplicity are priorities.

Common applications include:
  • Warehousing & Distribution — Mid-volume operations where push-button hydraulic activation improves safety and cycle time over mechanical alternatives
  • Light-to-Medium Manufacturing — Facilities handling moderate load weights that fall within the 25K–80K CIR range
  • Food & Beverage — Operations benefiting from the CleanSweep frame design, which supports a cleaner pit environment
  • Logistics & Transportation — Docks handling regular trailer traffic at or near standard dock height
  • Retail Distribution — Fulfillment centers prioritizing operational efficiency and low-maintenance equipment
  • Facilities Upgrading from Mechanical Levelers — The VH Series delivers full hydraulic convenience at an accessible price point, making it a practical step-up from mechanical systems

Installation & Service

Barron Equipment's service technicians install and service Poweramp dock levelers daily and have been doing so for over 43 years. Whether you are installing the VH Series as part of a new dock build-out, retrofitting an existing pit, or replacing a worn mechanical unit, our team manages the full process — from site measurement and pit evaluation through installation and commissioning.

The VH Series features a lockout/tagout maintenance strut included as standard, supporting safe and compliant servicing practices. Barron also offers preventive maintenance programs to keep your levelers cycling reliably and extend their service life. Regular PM visits catch wear components early and avoid costly emergency downtime.

Selection Assistance

Choosing between the VH Series and other Poweramp hydraulic options — including the PR Series or LHP Series — comes down to load capacity requirements, cycle frequency, desired feature set, and budget. The VH Series is purpose-built for facilities that want proven hydraulic performance at a more accessible price point, with capacities up to 80K CIR covering the majority of general-purpose dock applications.
The VH Series is available with a range of options including vehicle restraints (PowerHook®, TPR®, UniChock™, UXL), extended lip lengths (18" and 20"), iDock Controls, Dock Alert Communication System, pit steel, weather seals, foam insulation, and more.

FAQs

What is the Poweramp VH Series designed for?

The VH Series is a fully hydraulic, feature-packed product for the value-minded consumer. It combines superior structural steel ramp design with over 40 years of proven hydraulic operation to produce a safe, reliable, yet economic hydraulic dock leveler. It is well-suited for warehousing, distribution, food and beverage, and light-to-medium manufacturing applications where push-button hydraulic convenience is needed within a standard capacity range.

How does the VH Series compare to the PR Series?

Both the VH and PR Series are fully hydraulic pit-style levelers from Poweramp, but they serve different needs. The PR Series is Poweramp's premium platform, featuring folding and locking toe guards, a deck-mounted pump, a maintenance check plate for above-dock PM access, and capacities up to 120K CIR — backed by a 2-year base and 5-year extended warranty. The VH Series offers the same core hydraulic technology, fluid logic block, and in-line velocity fuse at a more accessible price point, with capacities up to 80K CIR and a 1-year base and 4-year extended warranty. The right choice depends on your load requirements, cycle volume, and budget.

What capacities are available for the VH Series?

Standard capacities for the VH Series are 25K, 30K, 35K, 40K, 45K, 50K, 60K, and 80K CIR (Comparative Industry Rating), available in standard widths of 6', 6'6", and 7' and standard lengths of 6', 8', 10', and 12'.

What warranty comes with the VH Series?

All Poweramp VH Series models feature a full one (1) year base warranty on all structural, hydraulic, and electrical parts, including freight and labor. Structural and hydraulic components carry an additional full four (4) year extended warranty with parts and labor.

Is the VH Series OSHA and ANSI compliant?

Yes. The VH Series conforms to OSHA requirements and is manufactured in compliance with the American National Standard of Safety Performance and Testing of Dock Leveling Devices (ANSI) MH 30.1.

Can the VH Series integrate with dock management software?

Yes. The VH Series includes a Connect Online option to connect to myQ Dock Management and view leveler activity online. It is also available with iDock Controls for integrated dock communication and scheduling.
