This low profile chair storage truck solves the problem with the same hanging design and floor-protecting benefits of the full-size models — compressed into a frame that stands just 41¾” tall when empty.
At 63″ long and 31⅝” wide, this half height folding chair cart holds up to 36 standard folding chairs or 30 Lifetime® brand folding chairs on built-in hanger bars. Chairs hang vertically, staying organized and protected from stacking wear. Four 5″ all-swivel phenolic casters roll the full load smoothly through doorways, hallways, and tight back-of-house areas. Every unit is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a lifetime warranty.
Features and Benefits
The 41¾” frame height is the defining feature of this low clearance chair rack. At roughly half the height of the full-size Model 900 (74″), the Model 940 slides under stages, below fixed shelving, beneath counters, and into storage areas with overhead obstructions that block taller trucks. The lower profile also makes loading and unloading easier for shorter users and volunteers — no reaching overhead to hang chairs on tall hooks.
The vertical hanging design remains fully intact at the reduced height. Chairs hang from built-in hanger bars (13¼” wide, 14″ long, with 6⅜” between hanger sets) that keep every chair individually accessible. The hanging position protects seats and backs from the scratches, scuffs, and finish damage caused by floor stacking. It also allows air circulation for drying after cleaning.
The heavy-gauge welded steel frame with powder-coated finish provides the same institutional-grade construction as the full-size models. At 62 lbs, this is the lightest hanging chair truck in the Raymond lineup — easy to reposition even when empty. Four 5″ x 1½” all-swivel phenolic casters provide non-marring mobility in any direction.
Applications
Schools are the primary users of this low profile chair storage truck. Under-stage storage areas in gymnasiums and auditoriums are the most common placement — the 41¾” height slides beneath most stage platforms where full-size 74″ trucks cannot fit. Cafeteria storage rooms with fixed overhead shelving also benefit from the half height design.
Churches with under-balcony storage, basement fellowship halls with low ceilings, and older buildings with non-standard storage dimensions rely on this half height folding chair cart to maintain vertical hanging storage where taller models are physically impossible. The lower height also makes this model accessible for ADA-compliant environments and volunteer-operated facilities where not all users can comfortably reach the hooks on a 74″ or 84″ frame.

Choose this low profile chair storage truck when your storage area has an overhead clearance restriction below 42″. If your storage room has standard ceiling height, the full-size Model 900 (72 standard chairs, 74″ H) or Model 900L (60 Lifetime chairs, 84″ H) provides higher capacity. For compact footprint needs with standard ceiling height, the Model 920 (48 chairs, 43½” L x 74″ H) provides a shorter-length alternative.
This model accommodates both standard folding chairs (up to 36) and Lifetime® brand folding chairs (up to 30) without needing a separate Lifetime-specific version — the half-height hanger spacing works with both profiles.
