Mobile Dock Lift

Mobile Dock Lift – 6,000 lbs Capacity

Overview

Our 6,000-pound capacity mobile dock lift, with a 54" × 96" platform, is a street-legal, towable lift that enables loading and unloading of trucks without the need for a fixed dock and accommodates vehicles without lift gates. It is fully mobile, self-powered, and NATM certified for towing. It can be towed by a standard truck or SUV and used anywhere — behind a store, on a construction site, a farm, a military base, a disaster area, and more. No external power or supporting infrastructure is required.

Unlike fixed cantilever dock lifts, this mobile dock lift is not anchored to a building or concrete pad. It goes where the work is. It is fully self-contained, ANSI compliant, and conforms to all applicable US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) in place at the date of manufacture. The platform, ramp, and bridge are non-skid diamond plate, and the lift is made with high-grade steel designed to withstand both impact and severe weather conditions.

Features and Benefits

The dock lift uses a cantilever lifting design along with Automatic Folding Ramps (AFRs) and a robust steel frame enclosure. The AFRs streamline the loading and offloading process and, together with proportional speed control and feathering capability, provide fast and controllable ascent and descent cycles. Dual operator stations — permanently located on the platform and at ground level — increase operating efficiency and deliver significant labor savings.

Safety is central to the design. Safety flow limiters on the cylinders prevent platform free-fall in the event of a hydraulic failure. The unit also includes a pressure relief valve on the hydraulic system, integral stabilization jacks for a level and secure working surface, and a platform locking pin to facilitate safe maintenance. A truck bumper protection system reduces the risk of impact damage during loading and unloading operations. The lift is powered by a 10 HP Hatz diesel engine, which requires no external power connection and is designed to operate reliably in field conditions including severe weather. Because the entire unit is self-contained, there are no utility connections, no pits, and no permits required — it deploys on any firm, flat surface.

Applications

The MDL-6000 is built for operations where dock access is unavailable, temporary, or entirely impractical. Its ability to be towed to any location and set up without infrastructure makes it a dependable solution across industries and environments that fixed dock lifts cannot serve.

Common applications include:

  • Emergency management and disaster response — deploy a fully functional loading dock at any relief staging area without waiting for infrastructure to be established
  • Military and government operations — field loading and unloading at remote sites, forward operating bases, and temporary logistics points
  • Construction sites — offload materials and equipment directly from delivery trucks without relying on fixed dock access
  • Agriculture and farm operations — move equipment, feed, or supplies between trucks and ground level in locations far from any permanent facility
  • Retail and grocery delivery — accommodate vehicles without lift gates during direct-to-site deliveries where a dock is not available
  • Lumper services — bring a complete dock solution to any facility or site, on demand
  • Backup when a permanent dock is out of service — use it when a current dock, leveler, or lift is down to keep operations running
  • City, county, and campus operations — support logistics in locations without permanent loading infrastructure, such as outdoor events, grounds maintenance depots, and municipal facilities

Selection Assistance

The MDL-6000 is the right choice when loading or unloading needs to happen somewhere a fixed dock simply does not exist — or cannot be built. If your operation has a permanent location and the ability to anchor a unit to a concrete surface, a surface-mounted cantilever dock lift in the Speed-Lift line may provide higher capacity and faster cycle times. However, when portability is the priority, no other unit in the Speed-Lift product line can match the MDL-6000's deployment flexibility. Contact the Barron Equipment team to discuss your application, site conditions, and load requirements. We will help determine whether the MDL-6000 or another dock lift configuration is the best fit for your operation.
