Overview
Barron Equipment supplies the Action Industries Passage Door Perimeter Brush Seal Kit, a complete weatherstripping solution for commercial and residential man doors. Each kit includes a Slim-Line aluminum retainer, a matching Slim-Line polypropylene brush seal, pre-punched retainers, and matching screws — everything needed to seal the sides and top of a passage door in a single package with no additional parts required.
Once installed around the door perimeter, the retainer and brush seal work together to close the gaps between the door and the frame on the sides and top. The polypropylene brush bristles create a flexible barrier that blocks drafts, cold air, dust, debris, rain, wind, and small pests while still allowing the door to open and close freely. Unlike rubber or vinyl seals that can stiffen in cold weather, the polypropylene brush material does not hold water and will not freeze in sub-zero temperatures.
Available Sizes
The perimeter brush seal kit is available in three sizes to fit standard man doors and passage doors. Choose the kit that matches your door dimensions:
- 3 ft. by 7 ft. door – SKU: J17MI-00-A
- 4 ft. by 7 ft. door – SKU: J18MI-00-A
- 6 ft. by 7 ft. door – SKU: J20MI-00-A
Applications
This kit is designed for passage doors, man doors, and entry doors on both residential and commercial buildings. Common applications include side entry doors on garages, warehouse man doors, shop entry points, office access doors, and any standard-sized passage door where air infiltration, pest entry, or weather exposure is a concern. The brush seal perimeter kit is frequently used as a retrofit solution on existing doors that lack adequate weatherstripping, or as a replacement for worn-out door seals that are no longer making consistent contact with the frame.
Installation
Each kit arrives with pre-punched retainers and matching screws for fast installation. Measure and position the retainer sections along the top and both sides of the door jamb. Align the pre-punched holes with the mounting surface and fasten with the included screws. Slide the brush seal into the Slim-Line retainer channel. Confirm the brush bristles make consistent contact with the door face on all three sides when the door is closed. The brush seal should compress slightly against the door surface without preventing the door from latching.
Selection Assistance
Action Industries also offers a passage door perimeter kit with a vinyl jamb seal instead of a brush seal, as well as passage door sweep kits for sealing the bottom of the door. If your project requires a full four-sided seal — sides, top, and bottom — Barron Equipment can help you combine a perimeter kit with a compatible sweep kit for complete coverage.
