Rytec PredaDoor NXT

Ideal for interior and exterior applications, such as coolers and cold storage, where speed, low maintenance and dependability are critical.

The Rytec PredaDoor® NXT® is a high-speed fabric roll-up door designed for warehouses, cooler transitions, cold-storage areas, and food-processing facilities. Opening at speeds of up to 50 inches per second, it combines a durable Rylon® panel with safety sensors, perimeter sealing, and impact-recovery features for frequently used openings.

Its Break-Away™ bottom bar and NXT Quick-Set™ system allow the curtain to be reset into the side guides without tools following qualifying impacts, helping facilities reduce interruptions caused by forklift contact.

Built for High-Cycle Industrial Openings

Busy industrial facilities need doors that can support frequent forklift, pallet-jack, and cart traffic without creating unnecessary delays. The PredaDoor NXT opens quickly to help vehicles and materials move efficiently through the facility, then closes to restore separation between adjoining spaces.

Its fast operation can help:

  • Improve traffic flow through high-use openings
  • Limit drafts between work areas
  • Reduce exposure at cooler and cold-storage transitions
  • Separate manufacturing and warehouse zones
  • Support consistent production and distribution workflows
  • Minimize the time conditioned spaces remain open

The PredaDoor NXT can be configured for interior or exterior openings. The correct configuration depends on the opening size, traffic volume, environmental conditions, wind exposure, pressure differences, and facility requirements.

Durable Rylon® Curtain Construction

The standard PredaDoor NXT curtain is made with durable 2-ply Rylon® panel material. An optional 3-ply USDA/FDA vinyl panel is available for food-processing applications. A full-width clear PVC vision panel supports visibility through the doorway, while structural wind ribs help the curtain withstand pressure differences between adjoining spaces.

These curtain options make the door suitable for applications such as:

  • Warehouses and distribution centers
  • Manufacturing and production facilities
  • Coolers and refrigerated storage areas
  • Food-processing operations
  • Interior environmental separation
  • Selected exterior industrial openings

Curtain material should be selected according to sanitation requirements, temperature conditions, pressure differences, traffic patterns, and the location of the opening.

Break-Away™ Impact Protection

Industrial doors are often exposed to accidental contact from forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and transported materials. Conventional door damage can interrupt an opening and require maintenance before operations can resume.

The PredaDoor NXT features an extruded aluminum Break-Away™ bottom bar designed to release following an impact. This helps reduce the force transferred through the door assembly and can minimize damage to the curtain, bottom bar, and side guides.

The impact-recovery design helps facilities reduce disruptions at frequently used openings while supporting long-term door performance.

NXT Quick-Set™ Tool-Less Reset

After an impact displaces the curtain, the NXT Quick-Set™ system allows the curtain to be returned to the side guides without tools. This can help authorized facility personnel restore the door to operation more efficiently than a traditional door repair.

The Quick-Set system is particularly valuable in high-traffic facilities where an unavailable doorway could delay production, interrupt shipping, or affect environmental separation.

Facility personnel should receive appropriate instruction on normal door operation and the proper impact-reset process during installation.

Integrated Safety Technology

The PredaDoor NXT combines multiple safety features designed to monitor the opening and respond to obstructions.

Dual Thru-Beam Photo Eyes

Dual thru-beam photo eyes monitor the doorway for obstructions. When an obstruction is detected, the system can prevent or interrupt the door’s closing movement.

Pneumatic Reversing Edge

A sensitivity-adjustable pneumatic reversing edge runs along the bottom of the curtain. If the closing edge contacts an obstruction, the door is designed to reverse direction.

Ry-Wi® Wireless System

The Ry-Wi® system provides two-way wireless communication between the pneumatic reversing edge and the wall-mounted controller. This design eliminates the traditional coiled communication cord between the moving bottom bar and the controller.

Optional Pathwatch® Safety Lights

Optional Pathwatch® threshold LED lights provide an additional visual cue near the doorway. This option may be beneficial for facilities with frequent forklift traffic, intersecting travel paths, or limited visibility around the opening.

Safety and activation devices should be selected according to traffic type, approach direction, vehicle speed, stopping distance, sight lines, and the facility’s operational risk assessment.

System 4+™ Digital Controller

The PredaDoor NXT operates through Rytec’s System 4+™ digital controller. The controller works with the door’s drive, activation, and safety systems to support fast operation and application-specific programming.

Professional configuration helps ensure that activation devices, closing delays, safety inputs, and operating settings match the facility’s traffic patterns and environmental requirements.

Perimeter Sealing

Full-height side-column brush seals and an edge-to-edge top brush seal help limit gaps around the closed curtain.

Effective perimeter sealing can support:

  • Draft reduction
  • Temperature-control efforts
  • Separation between work zones
  • Cooler and cold-storage transitions
  • Dust and debris management
  • More consistent interior conditions

Actual environmental performance will depend on the opening size, cycle frequency, temperature differential, pressure conditions, installation quality, and overall building envelope.

Professional Installation and Service

Proper installation affects alignment, sealing, safety-device performance, operating speed, and long-term reliability. Before installation, the opening should be evaluated for dimensions, mounting surfaces, electrical requirements, headroom, side clearance, environmental conditions, and traffic patterns.

Professional installation should include opening verification, component alignment, safety-device setup, controller configuration, activation testing, and instruction for normal operation and impact recovery.
