Overview
Barron Equipment supplies the Action Industries A2000 tongue and groove aluminum bottom seal retainer, designed specifically for garage doors built with tongue-and-groove style panels. Unlike flat, L-shaped, or U-shaped bottom retainers that mount to the surface of the door, the A2000 slides directly into the groove at the bottom of the panel and screws in place for a clean, secure fit that follows the door’s existing construction.
Once installed, the retainer creates a channel for a compatible 1/4 inch T-style bottom weather seal that blocks drafts, rain, snow, dust, leaves, insects, and small pests from entering the building when the door is fully closed. Constructed from high-strength solid aluminum, the A2000 stands up to daily use and extreme weather conditions without warping or corroding. It is available in eight pre-cut lengths from 5′-1″ to 18′-4″ in a mill finish.
Compatible Seals
The A2000 accepts 1/4 inch T-style and T-end bottom seals from Action Industries, including rubber seals, vinyl seals, bulb seals, and Xcluder rodent-blocking seals. The retainer channel is designed for seals with a 1/4 inch T-end insertion profile. If your door uses a different seal attachment style, Barron’s product specialists can help identify the correct retainer and seal match.
Applications
The A2000 is built exclusively for garage doors with tongue-and-groove panel construction. This panel style features an interlocking notch along the bottom edge of the door, and the A2000 retainer is shaped to fit snugly into that groove. Common applications include residential wood garage doors, commercial panel doors, and any door where the bottom panel uses a tongue-and-groove design. The retainer can be paired with a garage door threshold seal for additional weatherproofing on uneven floors or in areas with heavy rain, snow, or wind exposure.
Available Lengths
The A2000 is available in mill finish aluminum in eight pre-cut lengths: 5′-1″, 8′-2″, 9′-2″, 10′-2″, 12′-4″, 14′-4″, 16′-4″, and 18′-4″. The retainer can be cut to length for non-standard door widths. Barron Equipment can also coordinate custom-cut retainers through Action Industries for projects requiring exact dimensions.
Installation
Slide the A2000 retainer into the groove along the bottom edge of the tongue-and-groove door panel. Once positioned, secure the retainer in place with screws through the mounting surface. Verify alignment across the full width of the door before tightening all fasteners. When the installation requires more than one section, align adjoining pieces carefully to maintain a continuous, unobstructed channel. After cutting aluminum to length, remove sharp edges or burrs before inserting the bottom seal. Slide the compatible T-end seal into the channel and confirm even floor contact when the door is closed.
Selection Assistance
Choosing the right bottom seal retainer starts with identifying your door’s panel construction. If your door has a notch or groove along the bottom edge, the A2000 tongue-and-groove retainer is designed for that configuration. If your door has a flat bottom edge, a flat retainer like the A1250 or an L-shaped retainer may be more appropriate. For thicker doors that need a wraparound mount, U-shaped retainers are available.
Not sure which retainer fits your door? Send Barron Equipment a photo of your door’s bottom edge with a tape measure in the frame. Include a close-up of the panel profile showing the groove or notch. Our team can identify the correct replacement and recommend a compatible bottom seal.
