Large Gap Door Weather Seals
What are Large Gap Seals?
Large door seals are made from durable and flexible material and are ideal for applications where outside gaps may be too large for typical seals. These seals can be found in a variety of different widths and lengths and they are big enough to fill open spaces, allowing for lower heating and cooling costs and are energy efficient all year.
Choosing the Right Seal
At Barron Equipment, there are three main types of seals to choose from — brush seals, rubber seals and a combination of both, called Weatherblock. All are a great option for replacing traditional seals, as traditional seals are not as effective in preventing outdoor air, or dust, pollen and insects from infiltrating the inside area, leading to high heating costs.
Rubber weatherstrip seals are made with durable EPDM rubber and are ideal for less intensive applications. Brush seals are made with polypropylene filaments that won’t hold water or freeze in sub-zero environments, creating a comfortable and energy efficient opening. Weatherblock uses both brush seals, as well as a layer of EPDM rubber to create the best barrier between the door and outside elements, allowing the opening to be efficient all year long. Weatherblock can be utilized in the most heavy duty applications.
