Overview
Barron Equipment carries the Almond (P48) R2 garage door stop molding from Westlake Royal Building Products, distributed through Action Industries. This 2 inch wide vinyl jamb seal installs around the sides and top of a garage door frame to create a weathertight barrier between the door and the door jamb. The R2 profile features a flexible vinyl fin positioned on the rounded corner of the wood-grain-textured flex mount, pressing against the face of the door when it is closed to block drafts, rain, snow, wind, dust, insects, and small pests.
Built with Uniflex technology, the R2 stop molding stacks flat in the box without bending or distorting the vinyl fin during shipment and storage. This means the seals arrive straight and ready for installation with no need to reshape the fin before mounting. The Almond (P48) color provides a neutral, warm-toned finish that pairs with a wide range of residential garage door colors and exterior trim.
Product Highlights
Each purchase includes a box of 15 pieces in the length of your choice. Available lengths are 7′, 8′, 9′, 10′, 14′, 16′, and 18′ with a 2″ width. The stop molding carries a limited lifetime warranty from Royal Building Products and is designed for long-term, low-maintenance performance. The vinyl construction is waterproof, dent-resistant, and termite-proof, making it a durable alternative to traditional wood stop molding that can rot, warp, or attract insects over time.
Applications
R2 stop molding is designed for residential garage door installations where the jamb and header need a finished, sealed edge. The molding installs to the door frame around the sides and top of the opening, with the vinyl fin making contact with the garage door face to close the gap. Common applications include new residential garage door installations, stop molding replacement on aging or damaged wood trim, and retrofit weatherstripping projects where the homeowner wants to improve the door’s seal against the elements without replacing the door itself.
Installation
Measure the height of both side jambs and the width of the header above the door. Cut the R2 stop molding to length for each section. Position the molding against the door frame with the vinyl fin facing the door and the wood-grain surface facing outward. Fasten the molding to the jamb with appropriate fasteners, ensuring the vinyl fin makes consistent contact with the door face when the door is closed. The R2 profile’s flex mount design allows the fin to maintain contact across minor surface variations in the door panel.
Selection Assistance
Royal Building Products offers the stop molding in three profiles: R2, R3, and V9. The R2 is the most popular profile, with the flexible fin on the rounded corner of the trim. If your existing door frame uses a different profile, Barron Equipment can help match the correct replacement. The Almond (P48) color is one of over 30 available colors, so if your door or trim calls for a different shade, contact our team to check availability.
