Overview
Thick carpet, rough warehouse concrete, worn tile, and raised door thresholds stop smaller desk movers in their tracks. This extra heavy duty desk mover is built for exactly those conditions. Equipped with the largest 4″ non-marring swivel casters in the Mighty King lineup, it delivers the ground clearance and rolling force needed to glide over the toughest flooring without catching, dragging, or requiring extra effort from the operator.
Rated at 600 lbs, this desk mover lets one person safely lift and transport fully loaded desks, file cabinets, bookcases, and heavy office furniture without emptying drawers or calling for a second worker. A hydraulic pump-action handle provides smooth, controlled lifting with one hand. Three frame widths — 32″, 40″, and 46″ — accommodate desks from compact classroom workstations to oversized executive configurations. Every unit is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a lifetime warranty.
Features and Benefits
The 4″ non-marring swivel casters are the largest available across all Mighty King desk movers. The increased wheel diameter makes a measurable difference on challenging surfaces — thick commercial carpet, uneven warehouse concrete, rubber transition strips, tile grout lines, and the raised thresholds found between rooms in older buildings. Where smaller 2½” or 3″ casters would catch or require additional push force, the 4″ wheels maintain smooth, controlled movement throughout the entire transport route.
The hydraulic pump-action lift mechanism raises the desk off the floor with one hand. The trip-lock safety mechanism prevents accidental lowering during transport, and a release valve gently sets the furniture down at the destination. This hydraulic action eliminates the physical strain of manual lifting and reduces workplace injuries — a single custodian or facilities worker handles the entire move independently.
The 16-gauge welded steel frame with full-penetration welds provides the structural rigidity needed for daily, high-volume use. The powder-coated finish resists chips and corrosion. The lift frame is coated with skid-resistant red vinyl, which grips the underside of the desk and protects the furniture from scratches during transport. The low-profile frame slides under most standard desks without needing to pre-position or pre-lift the furniture.

Applications
School districts are the largest user group for desk movers. Custodial staff reconfigure classrooms for testing, assemblies, summer cleaning, and floor waxing — often moving 50 or more desks in a single shift. The 4″ casters on this extra heavy duty model handle the thick carpet and worn tile found in most K-12 buildings, and the one-person operation eliminates the need for multi-worker lifting crews. Universities use them for lab furniture, lecture hall desks, and administrative office relocations.
Corporate facilities teams rely on these desk movers for office reorganizations, hot-desking reconfigurations, and tenant build-outs. Moving companies use them to protect client floors and speed up job completion on executive desks, file cabinets, and heavy furniture. Government and military facilities depend on the extra heavy duty construction for the heavy-gauge furniture found in federal offices and barracks. Hotels and convention centers use them to reposition registration desks, podiums, and heavy event furniture between configurations.
Selection Assistance
Choose this extra heavy duty desk mover (Model 4000) when your facility has thick carpet, rough concrete, worn flooring, or raised thresholds that challenge smaller casters. If your building has smooth, hard floors and desk moves happen only occasionally, the Standard Duty Model 2000 (2½” casters) or Medium Duty Model 2300 (3″ casters) will handle the job at a lower price point. For facilities with mixed surfaces and moderate daily use, the Heavy Duty Model 3500 (3½” casters) offers a strong middle ground.
To determine the right frame width, measure the inside distance between the desk legs or pedestal supports. Compatible accessories — including the single pedestal adapter (Model 1800) and computer/utility table attachment (Model 1600) — expand the range of furniture you can move with any Mighty King desk mover.
