Overview
Moving a loaded desk between rooms or across a building is one of the most physically demanding tasks a facilities team faces. This desk lift eliminates the need for multiple workers, specialized equipment, or emptying drawers before a move. One person slides the lift frame under the desk, depresses the handle to raise it off the floor, and rolls it in any direction on non-marking swivel casters. The entire process takes seconds and keeps both the furniture and the flooring protected throughout transport.
This standard duty desktop lift is rated at 600 lbs and is available in three frame widths — 32″, 40″, and 46″ — to accommodate a wide range of office and classroom desk configurations. Built from heavy-gauge steel with a powder-coated finish and backed by a lifetime warranty, it is engineered for repeated use in commercial environments where reliability and floor protection are priorities. Every unit is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Features and Benefits
The steel frame and heavy-duty casting create a rigid, stable platform that does not flex under load. The lift mechanism raises furniture from 4¼” to 9¾” off the floor, providing enough clearance to roll over thresholds, transition strips, and minor floor irregularities without dragging or catching. The 2½” non-marking hard rubber swivel casters allow smooth, controlled movement in any direction and will not scuff or damage hardwood, tile, laminate, or carpet.
The lift frame is coated with a tough, skid-resistant red vinyl that grips the underside of the desk and prevents slipping during transport. This same vinyl layer protects the furniture from scratches and surface damage. An ergonomic handle provides comfortable leverage for raising and lowering the lift, reducing physical strain on the operator and allowing a single worker to complete moves that would otherwise require two or more people.
Each unit ships via UPS with minimal assembly required, making deployment fast and straightforward for facilities teams managing multiple locations or large-scale furniture relocation projects.
Available Widths
- Model 2000-32 – 32″ Width — The narrowest option, designed for standard single-pedestal desks and compact workstations. Ideal for classrooms and smaller offices. Unit weight: 43 lbs.
- Model 2000-40 – 40″ Width — A mid-range frame that fits most teacher desks, executive desks, and double-pedestal configurations. Unit weight: 44 lbs.
- Model 2000-46 – 46″ Width — The widest frame in the standard duty series, built for large executive desks, L-shaped desk bases, and oversized workstations. Unit weight: 46 lbs.
All three models share the same 600 lb load capacity, 4¼” to 9¾” lift range, and 2½” non-marking swivel casters. Choose the width that matches the span between your desk legs or pedestal supports.
Applications
School districts represent the largest user base for this type of desktop lift. Custodial and maintenance crews use them to reconfigure classrooms between semesters, relocate teacher desks during renovations, and stage furniture for standardized testing layouts. A single custodian with one desk lift can reposition dozens of desks in an afternoon — work that would otherwise require a two-person team and risk back injuries from manual lifting.
In office environments, facilities teams rely on desk lifts during floor remodels, cubicle reconfigurations, and tenant build-outs. The ability to move a fully loaded desk — with computer equipment, files, and accessories still in place — eliminates downtime spent emptying and refilling drawers. Hotels, government buildings, churches, and universities also benefit from the one-person operation and floor-safe casters that protect finished surfaces during transport.
Selection Assistance
Choosing the right desk lift starts with measuring the inside span between your desk legs or pedestals. The lift frame needs to slide underneath the desk with enough clearance to engage the lift mechanism. For standard classroom desks and small office workstations, the 32″ model is typically the right fit. Mid-size teacher desks and double-pedestal office desks usually call for the 40″ width. For large executive desks or oversized workstations, the 46″ model provides the platform needed for a stable lift.
If your facility also needs to move single-pedestal desks, computer tables, or utility tables, Raymond Products offers compatible attachments — including a single pedestal adapter (Model 1800) and a computer/utility table lift attachment (Model 1600) — that expand the functionality of any Mighty King desk lift. For heavier-duty applications on carpet or rough surfaces, consider upgrading to the Medium Duty (Model 2300), Heavy Duty (Model 3500), or Extra Heavy Duty (Model 4000) series with larger casters.
