Overview

Setting up and tearing down seating for banquets, assemblies, lectures, conventions, and worship services is one of the most repetitive physical tasks in any facility. Carrying stacked chairs by hand is slow, physically demanding, and risks damage to both the chairs and the building. This stacked chair dolly eliminates the hand-carrying by supporting a full stack of chairs on a sturdy two-wheeled frame that one person can tilt back and roll to the destination in seconds.

The heavy-gauge steel frame accommodates most standard stacking and folding chair types. A bonded vinyl handle provides a slip-resistant grip. Two wheel options — standard 8″ skid-resistant rubber tires (Model 500) and 10″ airless rubber tires (Model 500PN) — let you match the stack chair dolly to your flooring and environment. Every unit is manufactured by Raymond Products in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a lifetime warranty.

Features and Benefits

The two-wheeled tilting design is what makes this stacked chair dolly efficient. Instead of pushing a heavy four-wheeled cart, the operator slides the frame under a stack of chairs, tilts the load back onto the two wheels, and rolls it to the setup location. This tilt-and-roll method provides better balance and maneuverability than a flat platform — especially through narrow doorways, crowded hallways, and around tight corners where larger chair carts cannot turn.

The heavy-gauge welded steel frame supports the full weight of the chair stack without flexing. The powder-coated finish resists chips and corrosion under daily use. The bonded vinyl handle is slip-resistant and comfortable for repeated gripping throughout a full setup shift. The chair seat rests 13¾” above the floor, keeping the stack balanced at a natural tilt angle that is easy to control while rolling.

The Model 500 features standard 8″ x 1¾” skid-resistant rubber tires that roll smoothly on tile, hardwood, polished concrete, and commercial carpet. The Model 500PN upgrades to 10″ x 4.1″ airless rubber tires for facilities that need to transport stacked chairs across outdoor surfaces, uneven pavement, gravel, or rough flooring. Airless tires never go flat and never need inflation.

Available Models

  • Model 500 – 8″ Skid-Resistant Rubber Tires — The standard configuration for indoor use on smooth surfaces. Shipping weight: 28 lbs.
  • Model 500PN – 10″ Airless Rubber Tires — Designed for outdoor events, uneven surfaces, and facilities with rough or mixed flooring. Shipping weight: 31 lbs.

Both models share the same heavy-gauge welded steel frame, powder-coated finish, bonded vinyl handle, and 14½” frame width. Both ship via UPS with some simple assembly required. Overall dimensions: 14½” W x 33½” D x 48″ H.

Applications

Schools are the highest-volume users of stacked chair dollies. Custodial staff set up and tear down cafeteria seating, gymnasium bleacher overflow chairs, testing configurations, and assembly hall layouts on a daily or weekly basis. A single worker with a stack chair dolly can move an entire room’s worth of chairs in a fraction of the time it takes to carry them by hand — reducing setup labor, physical strain, and the risk of dropped or damaged chairs.

Churches and houses of worship use these dollies to configure fellowship halls, sanctuary overflow seating, and event spaces between services. Hotels and convention centers rely on them for banquet room setup, breakout sessions, and conference reconfiguration. Event rental companies stock multiple stack chair dollies to speed up delivery and retrieval at off-site venues. Government buildings, community centers, and recreation departments depend on them for public meeting rooms and multipurpose spaces that change seating layouts frequently.

Selection Assistance

Choose the standard Model 500 with 8″ rubber tires for indoor-only environments with smooth flooring — tile, hardwood, polished concrete, and commercial carpet. Choose the Model 500PN with 10″ airless tires when your chair transport routes include outdoor paths, uneven pavement, gravel, grass, or any surface where standard rubber wheels would struggle.

For larger chair volumes or banquet-style padded chairs, Raymond also offers the Heavy-Duty Chair Cart (up to 48 chairs, 800 lb capacity) and the Narrow Stacked Chair Mover (Model 550) for tighter aisles. For individual upright chairs rather than stacked chairs, the Chair Tote (up to 14 chairs, 300 lb capacity) provides a different transport approach.

FAQs

How many chairs can this stacked chair dolly hold?

The exact number depends on the chair type, size, and weight. Most facilities load between 10 and 16 standard folding or stacking chairs per trip. Stay within the rated 240 lb load capacity and keep the stack balanced and centered on the frame.

Will this stack chair dolly work with my chairs?

This dolly accommodates most standard-size folding and stacking chairs, including the popular brands used in schools, churches, hotels, and event centers. If you are unsure whether your specific chair model is compatible, contact us with your chair dimensions for confirmation.

Can I use this stacked chair dolly on carpet?

Yes. Both the 8" rubber tires (Model 500) and the 10" airless tires (Model 500PN) roll well on commercial carpet. For thick carpet or outdoor use, the Model 500PN provides better performance.

What is the difference between the 500 and 500PN?

The Model 500 has standard 8" skid-resistant rubber tires for indoor use on smooth surfaces. The Model 500PN upgrades to 10" airless rubber tires for outdoor events, rough pavement, gravel, and uneven flooring. Airless tires never go flat.

Does this require assembly?

Yes — some simple assembly is required. No special tools are needed. Each unit ships in a single carton via UPS.

Is this stack chair dolly made in the USA?

Yes. Every Raymond Products stacked chair dolly is manufactured in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where they have been building material handling equipment since 1958. Each unit carries a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
